Ensuring we meet all the statutory requirements and regulatory compliance associated with our industry is, of course, absolutely vital. But we’ve also always been focused on having additional certifications in place that many of our competitors just don’t have. It might sound like a cliché but here at etiCloud we really do strive to go that extra mile wherever we can.

That said, you might still be wondering why we bothered working towards our own ISO 27001 accreditation; after all we’re probably one of the few global businesses in our specific industry to have this certification. Why? Well, it’s usually common practice to rely on your suppliers having this particular certification. That’s all well and good but having our very own ISO 27001 accreditation means we can facilitate a complete end-to-end check on security and information management whenever we wish. That’s a big deal for us and a real ‘belt and braces’ bonus for all of our clients.

What actually is the ISO 27001 accreditation?

The ISO 27001 accreditation relates to the handling of data and the security of that data. Not a day goes by without a media story relating to data breach or cyber attack and with the implementation of GDPR last year, data security is a topic that is now on many more millions of people’s radars!

Much of the data that flies around the globe every second contains personal, financial or medical information, and companies have a moral and legal obligation to keep that information safe from cybercriminals. That’s where ISO 27001 comes in.
