Empowering people facing court alone
We’re very proud to be working with the team at Sheffield Legal Hackers to sponsor The Association of Consumer Support Organistions’ LegalTech Charity Breakfast in support of Support Through Court.
Support Through Court is an organisation that empowers people who are facing court alone. Thousands of people in the UK find themselves in this situation each year. They have to represent themselves while they go through a divorce, seek custody of their children or face eviction from their home. Being forced to navigate the complex legal system alone is a truly daunting prospect and one what no-one should have to endure.
Explains our sales & marketing director, Jonathan Ashley: “When we received an invitation to the charity breakfast from Sheffield Legal Hackers, our first thought was could we possibly help out further by sponsoring the event itself. We were delighted when Jo Wardle confirmed that we could.
“I simply can’t imagine having to tackle a court appearance without professional legal advice and counsel. Everyone should be able to access justice and have the chance to have a qualified lawyer represent them. The team at Support Through Court are able to offer guidance before, during and after court and ensure that people heading to court are prepared and supported. And if our sponsorship means they can help more people, then that’s fantastic.”
